Never stop aloha - pt
In the beginning it was still exciting, thrilling, and somehow beautiful, this travel fever. But eventually it just was not funny anymore. We knew of course that it would be exhausting - it's always tough to fly to the other shit end of the world. But I have never made me ersthaft think about how ready it would actually make me. Good thing, because it would have brought nothing. Since we had to give.
We were at the end, when we finally ended up physically and with the nerves on O'ahu. 22 clock time, the sun had already bridesmaid dresses at jecicadress.
"You made it!", My aircraft neighbor said, laughing at me, "you gonna have so much fun here!" I said moment she beamed at me so, the belief came to it briefly back. I just wanted to finally arrive and fall into a bed, no matter what.
Still, I was glad for her kind words, she reminded me again because on that piece of land I would equate my foot.
And already in the gangway, I felt it a bit. And was suddenly wide awake. I could expect to get out of the airport and to feel the moist, warm air hardly. I had the last 36 hours only frozen, I wanted to finally take off this sweater and somewhere to sit in the T-Shirt without shivering. And quite unexpectedly, it hit us already when we left the gangway - because the airport in Honolulu is so half-outdoor and partly the outer walls have been omitted. Including a closed building built in a place that knows no winter.
"Do you smell that?" I said to Chrissy, and my heart was pounding like a child just before Christmas. It smelled like summer. After sun, palm trees and beaches. It felt as if I had just walked into the reptile house at the zoo. Warm humid and tropical. We were wide awake. I pulled the sweater from last, ending my journey, let the cold Germany behind me, forgetting that it actually is the middle of January.
